Before you buy
Why is the zipper so hard to open?
Because it is actually sealing. A zipper that presses shut tight enough to close the entire opening is what makes a bag airtight, and that takes real force to pull apart.
Most bags sold as waterproof are water-resistant: a splash flap, a fold-over roll top, or a soft zipper that slides open with one finger. They are easy to open because nothing is sealed in the first place — they shed rain and spray, then let water through once they go under or sit in the bottom of a boat. This one takes effort for exactly the same reason it keeps water, air, sand and moisture out.
It does loosen with use. Hold the pack by the zipper rather than the body, and start at one end and work across instead of pulling from the middle. If a zipper ever genuinely fails, contact the store — do not fight it until something tears.
What is the difference between Medium and Large?
Medium is 12 × 8.5 in and Large is 16 × 11 in. Medium suits packaged soft plastics, terminal tackle and personal items. Large takes the bigger bait packs and full-size documents. Both use the same seal and the same clear front.
Is it actually waterproof, or just water-resistant?
It is a 100% waterproof construction with a true airtight zipper, which together make a complete seal against water, air, sand and moisture. Most bags sold as waterproof are water-resistant with a good zipper; this one is sealed. Close it fully before it gets wet — a seal only works when it is shut.
Can I put my phone, wallet and keys in it?
Yes. That is one of the most common uses owners report — kayak anglers and boat owners use them for phones, wallets, keys and boat paperwork as much as for tackle. The clear front lets you see a phone screen without opening the pack.
Do I have to open it to see what is inside?
No. The front panel is clear, so you read the contents through it and only break the seal on the pack you actually want. That is the point of the clear front — fewer openings means the seal does its job.
